Barbara's Books

A Time for Verse – poetic ponderings on Ecclesiastes was published by Eagle Wings Press, imprint of Silver Boomer Books, in November, 2009.

We quote Ecclesiastes - "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven," "there is no new thing under the sun," "cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days," "he hath made everything beautiful in his time." We quote it, but who reads Ecclesiastes? What does it say for us here, now? How can we reconcile the Twenty-first Century with a century ended before the counting began? Barbara B. Rollins, like The Teacher, looks back on decades of life. Her path traces the search for happiness and meaning through titles of teacher, Christian educator, secretary, lawyer, judge, writer, Sunday school teacher, Rotarian, Toastmaster, genealogist, historian, editor, and publisher. Her sons married, leaving parents at home surrounded by memories and dogs. Cosmic debates rampage through Barbara's mind, having led her to graduate degrees in Christian Education and in Law. A student of the history of Twelve-Step programs, she draws understanding from eclectic literature and from correspondents around the world. A Time for Verse juxtaposes immortality and trivia, meditation and irreverence, scripture and show tunes. A Time for Verse is what it is.

Watch for A Cloud of Witnesses – two big books and us, by Barbara B. Rollins with OAStepper, coming in 2011. Like A Time for Verse, A Cloud of Witnesses responds to a biblical book, this time Hebrews, but adds a quote from the Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous.

Barbara's juvenile novel Syncopated Summer, arrived in September, 2006. It's got a website of its own, SyncopatedSummer.com.

In January of 2004 Barbara B. Rollins' first books were released by Capstone Press as the Forensic Crime Solvers series. The titles of the individual books are CAUSE OF DEATH, FINGERPRINT EVIDENCE, BALLISTICS, and BLOOD EVIDENCE. Written with Michael Dahl they are designed for children but great for people of all ages who want to learn more about the work they see on such shows as CSI. Capstone Press describes the books:

There's no escaping the scientific truth of forensic investigation. In EdgeBooks Forensic Crime Solvers, readers will learn how the clinically precise world of forensic science is zeroing in on crime-scene evidence to solve seemingly unsolvable crimes. From the gruesome crime scene to the forensic lab, Forensic Crime Solvers exposes the cold, harsh truth--crime doesn't pay.

You can buy the books at the publisher's website, Amazon.com, at Barnes & Noble, or get an autographed copy by ordering the books from this page. Payment can be by PayPal, check, or money order. If you have quesitons, email Barbara.

The forensic books are $20.00 each, autographed as you suggest. Shipping and handling is free on orders of four or more books. Texas sales tax will be paid by the seller when applicable.
